This book by Yuri Trifonov is about Moscow student life in the postwar years. The reader is taken into the lecture halls, the club and hostel be­longing to the Institute Trifo­nov's students attend. Here is shown the relationship be­tween Soviet students and professors, the wide range of the students' interests, their constant contact with the masses and with the life of the whole country. And all this is expressed with an artistic verac­ity that makes the characters live long in the memory.
