Mikhail Yudovich (1911-1987), International Master and International Correspondence Grandmaster, is the author of a number of books on chess theory and practice, which have been published in the USSR and abroad. He devoted this book to the complicated and sharp openings—gambits. The author gives an insight into the history of gambits, and this as well as what follows (the selection of 23 games taken from both classical and modern practice of great chess-masters) should interest those who already know how to play.
