Paine of Almack's Eighth Set of Quadrilles, containing La D'Artois, La Serant, La Duchesse D'Angouleme, La Berry, & Henri Quatre, with their proper figures in French & English, & direction to each Dance as now Performing at Almacks, the Argyll Rooms and Nobilities Assemblies, by Paines Band, to which is added The Milanease Waltz, arranged for the Piano Forte, by F.J. Klose, and dedicated to Mrs Drummond Burrell, by Jas Paine.
This set of Quadrilles date to 1817, Paine advertised them in The Times newspaper for 12th August 1817 as follows: "Mr Paine begs to inform the Nobility and Gentry, he has just published his eighth Set of Quadrilles as performed the last evening at Almack's, which complete the number for the present season; Mr P. particularly requests those wishing to have Paine's edition of Almack's Quadrilles, to observe they are printed for him at Falkner's music warehouse, 3, Old Bond Street, and signed by himself, "James Paine"."

Paine's quadrilles were, briefly, the most popular in London; Paine himself was a band leader at the fashionable Almack's Assembly Rooms, he had a privileged opportunity to promote his publications with the elite dancers there.
