Based on the case "In re Gault," the United States Supreme Court rules that children have the same four rights as adults and it became a landmark case. Fifteen-year-old-Gerald Gault had been sentenced to a juvenile detention center until he was twenty-one for making a lewd phone call. After spending some time in a state reform school, Gault was released.
