About this Book

This publication describes the purpose and importance of Ontario's guidance and career education program, its content, and its approach to teaching and learning. The introduction sets out the program rationale, key features, goals, and intended outcomes. This is followed by sections covering program planning, meeting needs of different categories of students, program delivery components, program assessment and evaluation, and the roles and responsibilities of principals, counsellors, teachers, parents, students, and community partners. The final section contains an implementation schedule.
