About this Book

This book examines woman abuse in Canada, and the political, economic and social factors which underlie it. Punctuated with first-person accounts from women who have experienced abuse, it describes how they have been affected by relationships based on dominance and control. It also examines how the perpetrators, service providers, policy makers and private citizens are woven into the narrative to create a ‘sociological story’ of battering.
