Matrix Structural Analysis
About this Book
The second edition of this text covers: the basic concepts and procedures of linear analysis of frameworks by matrix methods; the underlying theories of elasticity; the principles of virtual work; and the application issues such as the solution of linear equations and the treatment of constraints. In addition, it accounts for changes in the use and the teaching of matrix structural analysis that have taken place in the 1980s and 1990s. It also incorporates advances in the art of analysis, that are regarded as suitable for use in structural engineering design practice now and of increasing importance in the years just ahead. Chief among these are an introduction to nonlinear frame analysis and an interactive computer graphics computer program.
