This important study examines the relationship between Vodou and theatre, demonstrating that Vodou, like other rituals, encompasses theatrical and dramatic elements that give it the character of sacred theatrer. This work is not limited to a theoretical analysis of various elements of the theater in relation to Vodou, but presents observations on actual Vodou ceremonies and interviews and testimonies from Vodou priests and worshippers.
