About this Book

'Detectives of Autumn House' is a novella, placed at the unique intersection of queer fiction and detective fiction. The protagonists are five LGBTQ detectives: Lira Jackson, Pallavi Jones, Gloria Banerjee, Catherine Khan, and Alice Singh.

​The five detectives solve a case related to queer rights violations, and the narrative of this novella is driven forward by mysterious disappearances of authors, fake job offer letters, and intellectual property rights. 

​The five detectives are helped by Diana Madison and Vidisha who are investigative officers as well as stakeholders in the case. 

​The narrative also explores romantic love between the protagonists and the obstacles faced by them in their love lives due to conservative socio-legal norms.

​The novella is highly layered and fluid and does not follow a clear chronological linearity in its narrative.
