All Children are Our Children
About this Book
"All Children are Our Children tells stories from Pearl-Cohn High School in Nashville, Tennessee. Pearls are precious and rare, and form when a grain of sand, or some other foreign object, enters and dis- turbs a mollusk. When this disrupting object enters the shell, there is a protective layer that forms around it. Over time, the pearl develops as layer upon layer of this protective shell wraps around the grain of sand. Tucked within a shell, a refining process occurs which ultimately forms something beau- tiful and rare. 'The present formation Of our school mirrors that of a natural pearl. "ere has been disruption leadingto change. Disrupted by å new visron and direction, layer after layer of our ore values and beliefs have formed, and led to the development of a unique and exceptional school. Beauty has evolved throughå refinement process over time, and serves to reflect the Pearl that our school has become. Our story is a storv of moments and movements, rooted in justice, equity, and hope.
