E-Waste
About this Book
This catalogue is published in conjunction with "E-Waste," on view at the Tuska Center for Contemporary Art, Lexington, Kentucky, from November 6 through November 28, 2014, and on view at Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia, from March 13 through April 17, 2015."E-Waste" is an exhibition of new sculptures and videos. Combining machine-made, handmade, and organic forms, including a "fossilized" 3D printer, artist Katherine Behar's installation offers a meditation on consumer technology's environmental impact, digital labor's perverse acceleration, and big data's corporeality. The book contains images of selected works in the exhibitions along with an essay by Anna Watkins Fisher, and a statement by Dima Strakovsky.
