Roger Collins's history of the Basques (the first in any language) is now published in paperback in a second edition. This includes a substantial new chapter on the recent history of the Basques. He places their struggle for identity and self-determination within the context of the past two thousand years, and shows that to a large extent this has finally been achieved within the democratic Spain which has followed the death of Franco.
