After Prohibition
About this Book
Drug prohibition has proved a costly failure. More than 10 years after the launch of the War on Drugs, illegal drugs are still as easily available as ever, and prohibition has created more problems than it has solved. The contributors to this volume discuss alternative drug policies -- such as legalization. Although no one maintains that drug legalization would be a panacea, or that drug abuse would not continue to be a problem even in the face of legalization, the policy would be cheaper to implement, and might well create less collateral damage.
