Typescript draft with manuscript editorial corrections of an unpublished children's story by St. George Rathborne, meant to be published as number 5 of the Lend-a-hand boys series published by Goldsmith Publishing Company of Chicago. Other works in the series were published by Goldsmith in New York in 1931, around the time the company was formed. Wrapped in printed waste and housed in a brown paper envelope with red and white label of M.A. Donahue & Company of Chicago, with which Goldsmith shared officed space from about 1937 until the publisher went out of business around 1939. On the printed label is typed: Property of Goldsmith Pub. Co.
