Damp Shadows, Faint Metaphors endeavors to respond to the precarious moments of the 21st century—a bewildering mix of stark reality and simulacra. The rapidly changing times, typified by the schizophrenic discontinuity so astutely identified by the late Frederic Jameson, remain inexplicable in many ways. These poems reflect the ideological vacuum that is glaringly apparent in these troubled times.

Even the music, an intrinsic part of our poetry, seems to have turned distinctly elegiac—occasionally tinged with self-criticism. And what, ultimately, is the answer? Or is that, too, a question?
