Joint Circular No. 2
January 7, 1889
In 1888 the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen joined forces in an attempt to win concessions desired of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad (CB&Q). This so-called Burlington Strike of 1888 ended in defeat for the two railway brotherhoods.
This is the second of two joint circulars issued by the B of LE and the B of LF in connection with the Burlington strike. It includes the texts of telegraphic communications between the joint strike committee and CB&Q railway officials.
