Description
Present-day knowledge of Saturn*s rings is reflected.
The results of observations of Saturn*s rings are
analyzed in detail, and a number of conclusions as to
the nature of the rings are formulated. Particular
attention is given to the quantitative theory of change
in the brightness of the rings with phase angle, which
is then used to estimate the principal physical magnitudes
that characterize the rings as a whole, as well
as a typical particle of the rings. Questions concerned
with the dynamics of the rings are discussed.
The book is intended for scientists, graduate students, and
students interested in research on objects in the
solar system.
