Description

K.Jayachandran was reporter of Mathurbhumi Daily and Asianet T V Channel. He was one journalist who gave a human face to Malayalam journalism.As reporter of the daily in the district of Wayanad, he wrote innumerable reports taking up the cause of the poor, illitterate tribal people who were exploited by the rich settlers who came in from other places. Jayachandran also fought for the cause of environment and human rights. Later he shifted to the visual media, working as reporter for the Asianet channel in various other districts. He died on 24 November 1999. His reports in the newspaper were brought out in book form by his friends and colleagues in November 2000.
